Markets

We have the world's largest international financial city, the City Of London, meaning that even though our total value of incoming investments is less than New York, we receive more money from international sources than any other financial centre in the world, including New York.

We in the Realms also have the world's second largest tech market capitalisation, as reflected in the figures below for the end of trading in May 2001:

RANK: 1 MARKET (CITY): Nasdaq (New York) CAPITALISATION: US $ 3 000 billion

RANK: 2 MARKET (CITY): techMARK (London) CAPITALISATION: US $ 717 billion

RANK: 3 MARKET (CITY): Jasdaq (Tokyo) CAPITALISATION: US $ 85 billion

RANK: 4 MARKET (CITY): Neuer Markt (Frankfurt) CAPITALISATION: US $ 66 billion

As can be seen, the New York nasdaq is some 4.18 times larger than the next greatest tech market, the London techMARK, but the techMARK is some 8.44 times larger than the next largest market, the Tokyo Jasdaq, which itself is only 1.29 times larger than the world's fourth largest tech market, Frankfurt's Neuer Markt.

We are clearly a world player in technology companies.

Currency

We in the Realms and Territories have no fewer than 11 indigenous currencies.

Five Realms use the Eastern Caribbean Dollar.

Three Realms use the Australian Dollar.
